Flipped Teaching Video

Unlike traditional teaching methods, the flipped classroom approach changes the order of the teaching process and homework materials. Simply, what was taught in class is now completed at home, and what was previously assigned as homework is now completed in class.

Of course, there are pros and cons of the flipped classroom approach. First of all, it's a student-centered approach, which means it improves learner interest and motivation. The flipped classroom approach also promotes interaction with technology and allows students to study according to their needs and interests. However, when it comes to the use of technology students' competence and access to such technologies might be controversial.

The task given to me was to create either a grammar-teaching video or a vocabulary-teaching video on the flipped approach and a quiz about the video. With my pair M. Furkan Tekeş, we thought vocabulary one could be more suitable. To create the video, we chose Animaker as the tool, even though we had to deal with lots of issues. Firstly, in the middle of the video process, we encountered a recording fault, everytime we tried to record our voice, the website crashed, and we had to refresh the browser. Even so, the recording error was fixed, and we managed to finish the video we realized that to download up to 2 minutes video, it has to be paid. Furkan found the solution by taking a screen record with a different tool, OBS.
